Yaqoot Stone Rings — Natural Ruby in 925 Sterling Silver
Yaqoot, in plain terms
Yaqoot is the Urdu and Arabic name for ruby, the red variety of corundum, coloured by traces of chromium. The same Arabic root also covers blue sapphire, which is why the stone turns up twice under different names in Pakistan; our Journal sets out the Urdu names for the coloured stones, and the neelam sapphire guide covers the blue side properly. When someone searches yaqoot in Pakistan they mean the red one, and that is what sits in this collection: natural yaqoot, set by hand in Karachi into 925 sterling silver. The rings run from Rs 6,200 to Rs 36,000, every one made to order and delivered cash on delivery across Pakistan.
Anari yaqoot, and how colour is judged
Anar is pomegranate, and anari yaqoot is the grade named after a pomegranate seed held up to the light. It is a clear, saturated red that glows through rather than sitting flat and dark. In Pakistani markets colour is judged first, clarity second and size a distant third, which is why anari is the word buyers reach for when they want to say a stone is alive. Below it sits material that reads brownish, purplish, or too dense to pass light. Above it, well outside this bracket, sits fine gem-quality Burmese material, though the word Burma on its own describes origin, not grade.
Two things follow from that. Carat weight on its own tells you very little: Ruby Spark carries a 2.5 to 3.1 carat stone at Rs 7,200, while Flame Dreams carries 0.89 to 1 carat at Rs 15,800, roughly a third of the weight for more than twice the price, because the difference is colour and cut. Photographs also flatten red badly, so ask us for daylight video of the actual stone before you commit.
Natural, treated, synthetic: the words that matter
Almost all commercial ruby is heat-treated to settle its colour. That is standard, permanent and accepted throughout the trade. It is not the same thing as lead-glass-filled composite ruby, and it is not the same thing as lab-grown ruby sold as though it came out of the ground.
Every red stone in this collection is natural yaqoot. Where a red stone is lab-grown we name it in the title, which is why our Radiant Heart-Beat — Lab Ruby & Moissanite Heart Ring in 925 Silver is called exactly that and is kept out of this collection, as is our Synthetic Ruby Rose Necklace in 925 Sterling Silver. Two rings here do pair natural yaqoot with moissanite, a lab-grown stone used as an accent, and both say so on the label: Gleam of Ruby and Moissanite Ring and Love of Eternity Ring. Inside this collection you never have to guess which stone is which.

Men's yaqoot rings
Aqeeq and yaqoot are the two stones Pakistani men ask for by name, and a red stone in a heavy silver shank is a shape we build often: Endeavour Ruby at Rs 22,300, Imperium Ruby Band at Rs 22,800, The Passion of Ruby with a five to eight carat stone at Rs 28,000, Red Knight at Rs 32,000, and Three Fold Ruby at Rs 36,000. All five sit together in men's natural ruby rings. Each is cast to order, so shank weight and finger size are set for you. If you are buying as a gift and do not know the size, our ring size guide covers the millimetre measurements we work in, or send us a photo of an existing ring on WhatsApp.
Yaqoot in tradition
Yaqoot has been worn in the Muslim world for centuries, and later tradition often names it alongside aqeeq among the stones associated with a man's signet ring. Scholars differ, and we pass this on as tradition rather than ruling. South Asian astrological tradition separately assigns yaqoot a planetary association. We repeat these as tradition, not as promises, and we make no claim about what a stone will do for your health, your rizq or your fortune. Our Journal covers the meaning and traditional attributes of yaqoot at length.
Made to order in Karachi
Every ring here is made to order in our Karachi workshop and set by hand rather than mass cast, which is also why the same design can be built around a larger or a cleaner stone if you ask. We deliver across Pakistan with cash on delivery. If red is not the direction, the same hands make our neelam sapphire rings and our zamurd emerald rings.
Frequently asked questions
What is yaqoot stone called in English?
Yaqoot is ruby in English. It is the red variety of corundum, coloured by chromium. In Arabic the same root also names sapphire, which is why red ruby is called yaqoot ahmar and blue sapphire is yaqoot azraq, the stone known in Pakistan as neelam.
What does anari yaqoot mean?
Anar means pomegranate, so anari yaqoot describes a ruby the colour of a pomegranate seed held up to the light: a bright, translucent red that glows through rather than looking flat or dark. It is a colour description used in the Pakistani market, not a formal laboratory grade, so always judge the stone itself rather than the word.
Are your yaqoot stones natural or lab-grown?
Every red stone in this collection is natural yaqoot. Like almost all ruby sold anywhere in the world, the stones may be heat treated, which is a standard and permanent trade practice. Where we sell a lab-grown or synthetic red stone we name it in the product title itself, for example Radiant Heart-Beat — Lab Ruby & Moissanite Heart Ring in 925 Silver and Synthetic Ruby Rose Necklace in 925 Sterling Silver, and those pieces are kept out of this collection. Two rings here do set moissanite, a lab-grown stone, as an accent beside the natural yaqoot, and both name it in the title: Gleam of Ruby and Moissanite Ring and Love of Eternity Ring.
How much does a yaqoot ring cost at Zanvari?
A natural yaqoot ring in 925 sterling silver starts at Rs 6,200 with Infinity Knot Ruby Ring. Mid-range halo and larger-stone rings sit between Rs 10,900 and Rs 20,800. Men's yaqoot rings run from Rs 22,300 to Rs 36,000, which is the top of this collection.
Do you sell loose yaqoot stones by the carat?
No. We are a jewellery house, not a loose-stone dealer, so every yaqoot we buy is set by hand into a finished piece in our Karachi workshop. If you already own a loose stone and want it set, message us before ordering and we will tell you honestly whether the stone suits the setting you have in mind.
Which finger should a yaqoot ring be worn on, and who can wear it?
That question belongs to religious and astrological tradition rather than to us, and different traditions answer it differently. We do not give spiritual or astrological guidance and we make no claims about what a stone will do for anyone. Our Journal sets out what the traditions actually say about yaqoot so you can decide for yourself.
Does a yaqoot ring come with a certificate?
It depends on the piece. Certification here is stone by stone rather than blanket, and no ring currently in this collection is listed as certified. Where a Zanvari piece is supplied with a natural-stone report it is issued by GGI, a Karachi gemmological laboratory whose certificates can be verified online. Ask us about the specific ring before you order and we will confirm exactly what documentation it ships with.
Can I order a yaqoot ring cash on delivery?
Yes. We deliver nationwide across Pakistan with cash on delivery. Because every ring is made to order rather than pulled from stock, allow production time before dispatch; we confirm the timeline with you when the order is placed.
