About natural freshwater pearls (moti)

Pearl — moti in Urdu — is the world's oldest gemstone and one of the few organic gems, formed inside living molluscs rather than extracted from the earth. Freshwater pearls are cultured in freshwater lakes and rivers, producing lustrous, smooth spheres that range from pure white to cream and rose-overtone. No two pearls are ever identical — their shape, lustre, and character are entirely natural. In Pakistani and South Asian tradition, moti is associated with the Moon, purity, and feminine grace, and has been prized in jewellery for thousands of years. Pearl is also the birthstone of June.

Care instructions

Pearls are sensitive to chemicals, acids, and abrasion. Always put your pearl ring on last — after perfume, hairspray, and lotion. Wipe gently with a soft damp cloth after each wear.
