Ring Size Chart & Measurement Guide for Pakistan (MM to US, UK & EU)
Your ring size is a millimetre measurement
Every Zanvari ring is cut, set and finished by hand in our Karachi workshop after you order it. There is no drawer of stock sizes to swap from, so the naap you give us is the ring we make.
Pakistan has no ring-sizing standard of its own, so be wary of any chart that invents one. Jewellers here quote the naap in millimetres — the inner diameter of the band — while the US, UK and Europe use their own numbering. Order a 17MM and the opening through your angoothi measures 17.0mm across. If a jeweller gave you a number on the subcontinental 1–30 scale, send it on WhatsApp rather than convert it blind.
Method one — measure a ring you already own
- Choose a ring that already fits the intended ungli: snug, but easy over the knuckle.
- Lay it flat on a steel ruler and measure across the inside of the band, metal edge to metal edge. An outside reading runs one to two millimetres large.
- Read to the nearest half-millimetre — exact enough for our whole-millimetre sizes, and why the US and UK columns below are nearest equivalents, not exact matches.
No millimetre ruler at home? Photograph the ring lying on any ruler and send it on WhatsApp. We read these every day and confirm the size before anything is made.
Method two — string or paper
Wrap a 6mm paper strip, or thread that does not stretch, round the base of the finger — firm but not tight — and mark where it overlaps, checking the loop still clears the knuckle. Measure to the mark, then divide by 3.14: a 53mm wrap gives 16.9mm, a Zanvari 17MM. Elastic and woollen thread both read small. Measure three times across the day and keep the largest reading.
Ring size chart: mm to US, UK and EU
Anchored on US 6 = 16.5mm inner diameter, each full US size adding 0.81mm; circumference is diameter times pi, and EU is that circumference rounded to the nearest millimetre. Both columns are rounded from exact figures, so a rounded diameter times pi can land a tenth away.

Our rings are ordered by inner diameter, so the millimetre figure is exact and the rest are conversions. For the longer explanation, read what 16MM, 17MM and 18MM actually mean.

Women's designs are made in 16MM to 19MM, men's in 18MM to 21MM — see men's rings in 925 silver — so six rows of the chart above sit outside the size picker. Across the past year 16MM and 17MM have been our two most-ordered sizes: a starting guess, never a substitute for measuring. If you measure outside our range, message us before ordering.
When to take the larger size
- Wide bands. Above 8mm wide, a band reads tighter than a slim one of the same diameter. Our sizes step a full millimetre, too coarse to correct for width, so tell us the band width when you order.
- A prominent knuckle. Measure the knuckle as well as the base; if they differ by more than a millimetre, size for the knuckle.
- Heat and swelling. Salt, long flights and warm weather each add a fraction of a millimetre.
Buying as a surprise
- Borrow a ring she already wears on the correct hand and measure the inside on a ruler. If it must go back at once, press it into soap and measure the impression later — the soap keeps the shape, it does not improve the reading.
- Ask a sister, mother or close friend. They usually know, and usually keep the secret.
- With no measurement at all, order 17MM for a woman and 19MM for a man; both sit in the middle of the range we make. Tell us it is a guess and we will flag it before the piece goes to the bench.
If the ring does not fit
Rings brought back to the Karachi workshop can be resized there, though fully set eternity bands and certain gemstone settings cannot be altered without remaking the piece. Anywhere else in Pakistan, message us before sending anything back: we will confirm in writing who books the courier, what it costs and how long it takes. Engraved and custom-made pieces cannot be returned or refunded.

What ring size do most people order in Pakistan?
Across the rings we have made in the past year, 16MM and 17MM are our two most-ordered sizes. Women's designs are made in 16MM to 19MM and men's bands in 18MM to 21MM, so 18MM and 19MM appear on both. Treat any of that as a starting guess only, never a substitute for measuring the actual finger.
What does 17MM mean on a Zanvari ring?
It is the inner diameter of the band: the opening through the middle measures 17.0 millimetres across. Lay a ring you already wear flat on a millimetre ruler and measure the inside of the band, metal edge to metal edge. If you read 17mm you need our 17MM, which is about US 6½ and UK M½.
How do I find out her ring size without her knowing?

Is a Pakistani ring size different from a US or UK size?
No. There is no separate Pakistani standard. Jewellers in Pakistan quote the inner diameter in millimetres, the US uses numbers and the UK uses letters for the same physical measurement, and the chart on this page converts between them. Be sceptical of any site advertising a distinct "Pakistani size". If a local jeweller has given you a number on the subcontinental 1–30 scale, send us that number on WhatsApp rather than converting it yourself.
Should I order a size up for a wide band?
A band wider than about 8mm sits against more of the finger and feels tighter than a slim band of the same inner diameter. But our sizes step a full millimetre, which is far more than the allowance a wide band needs, so do not jump a whole size. Tell us the band width when you order and we will allow for it at the bench.
Does ring size change with the weather?
Fingers are smallest in cold weather and first thing in the morning, and largest in heat and by late evening. The swing is small but real, and Karachi is warm for most of the year. Measure in the late afternoon, and if you fall between two sizes take the larger one.
What happens if the ring does not fit?

Can I print a ring size chart and lay my ring on the circles?
You can, but only if your printer is set to 100% scale with any "fit to page" option switched off — scaling makes every circle on the sheet wrong. Check the printout against a ruler before you use it. Measuring an existing ring directly on a ruler, or sending us a photo of it lying on a ruler, is more reliable.
