Why a pear cut?

A pear spreads its weight along the finger rather than across it, so it looks larger than a round of the same carat and makes the hand look longer — worn with the point toward the fingertip, it is the most flattering cut there is. It has the fire of a round brilliant with a shape nobody else at the table is wearing, and the point, the only part that needs protecting, sits inside its own V-prong. At D–E VVS the long, clean body of the stone has nothing to hide.

What D–E and VVS1–VVS2 actually mean

Diamond colour is graded from D (no colour at all) down the alphabet; D and E are the top two grades, and the difference between them is invisible outside a laboratory. Clarity is graded by what a trained grader can find under 10x magnification: VVS stands for "very, very slightly included", meaning inclusions so small that even the grader struggles to locate them. VVS1 and VVS2 sit just below the flawless grades. In plain terms: the stone is as white and as clean as a diamond gets without the flawless premium — which is why it can be bigger for the same budget.

What is a lab-grown diamond?

A lab-grown diamond is a real diamond. It is pure carbon in the same crystal structure as a mined diamond, with the same hardness (10 on the Mohs scale), the same brilliance, and the same grading scale — it is grown over weeks in a laboratory instead of over a billion years underground. A gemologist cannot tell the two apart by eye; only specialist equipment can. What changes is the price: a lab-grown stone costs a fraction of a mined one of the same grade, and comes with none of the mining.

Why silver, and not gold?

Because the stone is the point. A three-carat D-colour VVS diamond in a heavy gold setting would add lakhs for metal that sits under the stone. Care instructions

Store in the Zanvari box when not wearing. Put the ring on last, after perfume and lotion. Wipe with a soft microfibre cloth; a diamond can also be cleaned in warm water with a drop of mild soap and a soft brush. Frequently asked questions

What carat should I choose?

The 1CT is slender and elegant — and because a pear looks larger than its weight, it reads bigger than a 1CT round. The 2CT is the one that gets noticed across a room. The 3CT is a statement, and at D–E VVS it is a statement with nothing to hide. If you are torn, the 2CT is the answer for most hands.

Which way should the point face?

Point toward the fingertip is the classic way — it lengthens the finger. Point toward the knuckle is the modern way. The ring is made to your choice; tell us on WhatsApp when you order, or we will set it point-out by default.

Are lab-grown diamonds real diamonds?

Yes. Chemically, physically and optically they are diamond — pure carbon, 10 on the Mohs scale, graded on the same colour and clarity scale as mined stones. The only difference is origin, which is disclosed on the laboratory report.

Is VVS worth it over VS?

To the naked eye, a VS1 and a VVS1 stone of the same size look identical. VVS is for the buyer who wants the report to say it — the grade that holds its story when the ring is handed down, or shown to a jeweller in twenty years. If budget matters more than the certificate, our VS1 rings put the same money into a larger stone.

Is this the same as moissanite?

No. Moissanite is a different gemstone (silicon carbide) with more fire and a lower price; most of Zanvari's range is moissanite and we say so plainly on every page. This ring is diamond. Our sizes are the inner diameter in millimetres — measure the inside of a ring that already fits, edge to edge. 17mm is the most common size.
