Coral is not a mineral but a gift of the sea: it is built slowly in the depths by living organisms, which is why it has been worn for courage and vitality for as long as people have sailed. Every piece of natural coral is its own — the colour runs from deep ox-blood red to salmon and soft orange-pink, and a fine natural grain or tiny pits may show on the surface. These are the fingerprints of a real coral, not flaws, and your ring will not match the photograph exactly. Care: Coral is one of the softest gems — organic, porous and easily scratched. Keep it away from perfume, lotion, hairspray and water, and especially from anything acidic (even lemon juice or vinegar can mark it); put the ring on last and take it off first; and wipe it with a dry, soft cloth after wear. Never use ultrasonic or steam cleaners. The rhodium finish is covered by Zanvari's lifetime free replating.
