An honest note on colour: Almost all blue topaz on the world market — including this stone — begins as colourless natural topaz and is given its blue by irradiation and heat, a treatment standard in the gem trade for decades. The stone is genuine natural topaz, and the colour is permanent and will not fade.
Care note: Topaz scores 8 on the Mohs scale but has perfect cleavage in one direction, so a sharp knock at the wrong angle can split it. Avoid ultrasonic and steam cleaners and sudden temperature changes.
Made-to-order: This means the items are not pre-produced and are instead assembled or crafted after a customer places an order.
