Ten Carat Reign — 10ct Natural Blue Topaz Ring in Sterling Silver

A ten-carat blue topaz is the clearest thing you will wear all year. It looks like water that decided to stay.

The stone

Ten carats of natural blue topaz, oval cut, a cool Swiss blue with a glassy brightness that most coloured stones cannot match. Look closely and you may find the internal landscape that natural topaz carries — a fine veil, a faint needle, the quiet evidence of fluorine, aluminium and geological time.

These are not flaws. They are the reason a natural stone at this size exists at all, and the reason yours will never be identical to the photograph or to anyone else's. Blue topaz runs from sky to Swiss to London blue from one stone to the next, so buy expecting your own shade rather than the one on screen. If the colour is not what you hoped for, it can be exchanged for another stone in your preferred shade.

The setting

Four sculpted crescent prongs cradle the topaz rather than gripping it, leaving the girdle open so light enters from beneath and returns through the stone rather than bouncing off it. Clusters of moissanite climb both shoulders in a deliberately unruly arrangement — a court around a throne, gathered rather than marshalled.

The metal

925 sterling silver, rhodium-plated to a bright white that lets the blue stay cool and clean. Replated free, for the life of the ring.

Topaz is the birthstone of November and the stone of the fourth anniversary — and the one people most often mistake for aquamarine in photographs. In person, there is no mistaking it.

Before you buy

• Natural means inclusions. Topaz is cleaner than most coloured stones, but a ten-carat stone with no character at all is not a natural one.
• Topaz is 8 on the Mohs scale — hard, but with a cleavage plane, so avoid sharp knocks on the stone itself.
• Colour varies stone to stone. Expect a difference from the photograph; an exchange for a preferred shade is possible within 30 days.
• Made to order, handcrafted in our own workshop — allow 10–16 business days.
• Lifetime free rhodium replating.

Care

Put it on last, after perfume and lotion. Take it off before hand sanitiser, cleaning, and swimming. Store dry, away from harder stones that could scratch it. Bring it to us whenever the white dulls — we will replate it, free, for as long as you own it.
